The Pitts Memorial
Lectureship in Ethics
In addition to the Interdisciplinary Fellowship in
Health Care, the Institute
also co-sponsors the Pitts Memorial Lectureship in Ethics. The overreaching
goal of the Lectureship is to provide the MUSC family of students and faculty
an outstanding educational experience in the general area of ethical issues in
health care, as they relate to delivery of services, policy, law, and society.
Previous Pitts Memorial Lectureship
Presenters Stuart J. Younger, M.D.,
William J. Windslade, Ph.D., J.D., E. Haavi Morreim, Ph.D., and Frank J.
Brescia, M.D., spoke on topics including futile care, physician assisted
suicide the ethics of managed care, and palliative care.
