Selection Factors to be considered:
  • the applicant's achievement in their own discipline;
  • demonstrated interest in ethical, legal or social aspects of health policy;
  • references; and
  • the personal statement

Evaluation
Fellows will be expected to write a report which includes self-assessment of achievement of fellowship goals, a description of problems in project implementation, and an outline of plans for the future.  In addition, fellows will meet with a mentor at least once a week to review these issues. Fellows are responsible for notifying the program director of any circumstances that adversely influence their ability to meet their project goals. The program staff will work with the fellow to develop a satisfactory resolution to any problems that arise in implementation. The program director will review the progress reports and use them as the basis for recommendations and evaluation of the fellowship for future funding. The Institute of Human Values reserves the right to withdraw funding if the fellow is not demonstrating appropriate progress towards accomplishing his/her goals.

Applications must be received at our office by the deadline.  Applicants are encourage to apply early!

Finalists Notified:
November 1st
